UPF Site Prep

Description: Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District, has a requirement to execute site readiness and site preparation subprojects of the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) construction project at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN.

The general scope of work is as follows:

  • Site layout plan for trailers and laydown areas
  • UPF Site Infrastructure and Services (SIS) traffic control plan
  • Maintaining the wet spoils area during construction,
  • Construction of sediment basin 6
  • Construction of the haul road extension to include wetlands 6, 7, 8
  • Construction of wetland 11
  • Construction of the Bear Creek Road security pull off & retaining wall
  • Construction of stream channeling mitigation features
  • Preparing the west soil spoils area to accept engineered fill
  • Excavation of building 9107 hillside
  • Construction of sediment basin 4 and placement of engineered fill in the west soils spoils area
  • Grading of areas for UPF supporting facilities
  • Construction of drainage features and sewage lines associated with the above items
  • Milling asphalt and delivering to the facility for later use, and
  • Performing erosion and sediment control, and water management activities
